March -April Deadlines: School Wellness Weekly

School Wellness Weekly

 2016 Poster Contest Now Open!

It’s time for your students to show how
creative
they can be when promoting the benefits of eating nutritious food, being physically fit, and getting adequate sleep (at least 10 hours for school aged kids and 9-10 for teens). School Wellness Council champions should put the word out, through teacher, student, and parent announcements, that all students in your school can participate in the 7th Annual Wellness Poster Contest (2016). (You can even forward them this newsletter!) One winner and three runners-up will be selected from each grade level (elementary, middle, and high school). Schools with winning entries will receive up to $500 of wellness materials, and the winning designs will be displayed in schools citywide, on the DOE website, and in other documents used to increase awareness of school wellness, including our ever-popular Wellness Calendar. All winners and runners-up will be recognized at an awards ceremony in June. Full details are here. The deadline for contest entries is Friday, March 4, 2016.
