The 8th Congressional District is participating in this year’s Congressional High School Art Competition. This event provides a change for young artists to display their abilities and compete to have their art displayed in the Halls of the Capitol for one year.
Art works entered in the contest may be up to 28 inches by 28 inches (including the frame), up to 4 inches in depth, must be two dimensional only and weigh no more than 15 pounds.
Acceptable artwork mediums include:
- Paintings – including oil, acrylics, and watercolor;
- Drawings – including pastels, colored pencil, pencil, charcoal, ink, and markers;
- Prints – including lithographs, silkscreen, and block prints;
- Mixed Media; Computer Generated Art and;
All artwork submissions must be original and submitted to the Central Brooklyn District Office (55 Hanson Place, Suite 603) or the South Brooklyn District Office (445 Neptune Avenue, 1st Floor) by Friday, May 5, 2017.
