2/21, 23 Events: SBA FREE Mini-MBA Classes

SBA Emerging Leaders 2018 Program NYC and Yonkers classes application is open. Please see the qualifications and register before Feb. 23rd. The class will be from April to Oct. on 13 Tuesday evenings.

Come to one of the Information sessions to meet the Project Manager, learn about the curriculum and recruiting process.

SBA New York seeks applicants for its 2018 Emerging Leaders class. This a great opportunity to learn more about your business and create a three-year growth plan. It’s also a way to work more closely with SBA and its Resource Partners – SCORE, the Small Business Development Centers and Women’s Business Centers.

Applicants to the program should:

  • have an annual revenue between $400,000 and $10 million
  • have been in business at least three years
  • have at least one employee in addition to the owner
  • commit to attending one Tuesday evening every-other week for seven months – April to October
  • be a key decision maker in the company
  • commit to meeting with “CEO groups” outside of class to discuss relevant topics
  • be prepared to learn, have fun and grow their companies

You must register by completing the SBA Emerging Leaders Expression of Interest form!

2/28 deadline: Artist in Residence Program

The Artist in Residence (AIR) program will sponsor residencies to approximately 6-8  local artists from Bedford Stuyvesant and Crown Heights communities. Residencies of four to ten weeks include studio space, stipends and program supplies. AIRs become part of a dynamic community of artists participating in the libraries other programs, allowing for exchange and collaborative relationships to develop between the artists and Brooklyn Public Library. Artists also have the option of creating a piece of art during the residency period that will belong will become a part of the library’s collection. Artists selected for this program are at all stages in their careers and work in all media, including drawing, painting, sculpture, photography, film, video, new media, installation, fiction and nonfiction writing, poetry, dance, music, interdisciplinary, social practice, and architecture.

This program is in partnership with STooPS Bed-Stuy.

Submit your application by February 28th.
