The Lafayette Gardens Community Center, operated by Grand Street Settlement, needs your assistance in acquiring mentors for their Young Men’s Initiative in the Lafayette Gardens community.

Young Men’s Initiative (YMI) is a mentoring program geared toward young men in high school. The mission of the YMI Cornerstone Mentoring Program is to support high school students during the transitions from high school into college and career, by cultivating positive personal relationships and community involvement. Throughout the year mentees and mentors will take part in workshops developing leadership abilities among our youth that will strengthen their advocacy and work readiness skills. In addition to service-learning projects, mentors will provide youth with guidance on the college application process, employment, attend trips and visit colleges.

If you know of any candidates that would be an asset to this program please feel free to contact Monique Smalls at MSmalls@grandsettlement.org or at 347-384-8880.
