Free Visits for Artists of 101 Spring Street

Judd Foundation is pleased to offer free visits of 101 Spring Street for practicing artists in New York.

If you are an artist living and working in New York, please contact newyork@juddfoundation.org to book your visit. Fridays at 11:00am are reserved for free artist visits. Reservations on public visits Tuesday through Saturday are on a first-come, first-served basis. Please provide a range of available dates so that we can best accommodate your preference.

The New York Artist Engagement Project is supported, in part, by public funds from the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of Governor Andrew M. Cuomo and the New York State Legislature, and the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs in partnership with the City Council.

3/30 deadline: Apply for Pre-K

The deadline to submit your pre-K application is quickly approaching! Make sure you apply to free, full-day, high-quality pre-K by March 30, 2018! All NYC children born in 2014 who apply by the deadline are guaranteed a pre-K offer.

All you need for the application is your child’s name and date of birth, your contact information, and your list of up to 12 pre-K programs. Use Pre-K Finder or the Pre-K Directory to choose programs and rank them in your true order of preference on the application.

Apply by the March 30 deadline one of three ways:

Remember, the application is not first come, first served, but the deadline is coming up fast! If you already submitted your application, you’re all set—but you can still make changes to it before the deadline, if you’d like. 5/1 deadline: 2018 Summer Energy Academy

The American Association of Blacks in Energy, NY Metro Chapter (AABE-NYMAC) is proud to announce the 2018 Summer Energy Academy hosted by Bedford Academy. The SEA Program consists of an interactive curriculum of presentations, mathematics enrichment, field trips and a research project focusing on sustainable energy. Over six weeks, students will discover ways to reduce their own and New York City’s energy consumption while applying their knowledge and research to various projects.

 

SEA students (grades 6-9) are selected based on a review of their academics, state exam scores, a brief essay and interview. 

 

There is no cost to attend the Academy with the exception of a $350 registration fee once the student is accepted into the program. 

 

If you are interested in attending, please complete and return the attached application and all supporting documents by May 1st, 2018 to the SEA Application Review Board at summerenergyacademy@gmail.com or online.

4/6 deadline: Black History Month Scholarship 2018

PAB Pharmacy, Creating Legacies & Pia Raymond NYC present Black History Month Scholarship 2018
Awarded to a high school senior or a student currently enrolled in an institution of higher learning who demonstrates purpose, prowess and persistence in the face of adversity.

Student must be:
• A resident of New York City
• At least 16 years old and not more than 23 years old
• High school senior or enrolled in an institution of higher learning

Student must:
• Submit a completed application
• Submit copies of his/her 2 most recent report cards
• Submit Typewritten, double-spaced, 500-word essay

Prizes:
• 1st Prize – $500
• 2nd Prize – $400
• 3rd Prize – $300

Submission must be received by, Friday, April 6, 2018 at 11:59pm
